Project 2020 for Beginner Band Resource Books were written to provide beginner band students a resource to go "warp speed" in their journey to learn music elements sequentially and methodically not only to learn to play but actually develop understanding and application of the elements of music - Notation, Theory, Rhythm, Pitch, Harmony, Form, Dynamics, Tempo, Articulation, Technique and Style. More often than not the elements of music are put aside in favor of having students learn to play notes and songs quickly. This robs students and the ensembles they play in of learning musical understanding. It will become evident that after using this resource students will play with musical understanding alone (solo) and in ensembles because they will be made aware of the music elements used in each exercise and song. In addition students will internalize the elements of rhythm and pitch by
1.) the utilization of Orff speech/ chant/body percussion,
2.) singing using Kodaly hand signs/pitch syllables/song lyrics.
